How Does iCageTM System Work?
A basic Re-circulating Aquaculture System (RAS) contains a tank for holding water and fish, a filter, an aerator to supply oxygen (optional), pumps, piping system and various valves. The heart of an efficient RAS is the filter, which works continuously to sustain life by cleaning and detoxifying water. Without it, the animals in the tanks would die, poisoned by their own metabolic waste product.
iCageTM filter is designed and manufactured according to the highest quality standard to ensure water is continuously clean and become the natural breeding place for any type of fish. In our iCageTM filter system water continuously pumped from the tanks using standard piping system and sprayed over a special tray which has several layers of sponge. Water would then flow into another trapping compartment of coral, charcoals and other agents before it is pumped back into the tanks. This simple and functional filtration system is easy to maintain and less manpower is needed. It works very fast and efficient, but of course it would depend on the number of tanks and the power capacity of the pumping system.
Biofiltration
Bio-filtration is an additional method to ensure maximum water cleanliness. Some of us use Effectives Micro-organisms (EM), as an added bacteria to remove dissolved metabolic waste products (ammonia and nitrite) from the water.
